Our Promise
Our Commitment To A Greener Tomorrow
Leadership brings responsibility and commitment. As one of the rising sustainable energy companies in Africa, we believe that we have a vital role to play: to provide sustainable energy security to our country and beyond, while also creating employment opportunities and economic empowerment for all of us, including the youth and women. The classical definition of sustainability is, "development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
This definition underpins our ethos as a responsible continental citizen. At Quaint, we take great pride in our sustainable business practices, powered by "The Quaint Way"—Getting Results the Right Way.
Our sustainability goals are aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development plan of action for people, planet, and prosperity.
Our Commitment
We Deliver Trusted Solar Services
Sustainability is the overarching pillar of our business. As a leading sustainable energy company in the region, we recognize that our actions have a great impact across the continent. We adopt sustainable business practices that guide our interactions with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities
Our Employees
The Human Force Behind Renewable Change
We embrace diversity and inclusion, providing a safe and healthy workplace, encouraging work-life balance, fair compensation, team spirit and mutual respect, encouraging feedback to empower staff.
Our Community
Together For A Greener Tomorrow
At Quaint, we believe in community empowerment. We also believe that sustainable business of the 21st century should all be able to ‘do good while doing well’. We actively support socio-economic activities that raise the standard of living and education (SDG4) in our communities by provision of gender equality and job creation for all, clean water (SDG6) and healthcare (SDG3).
Our Partners
Connecting Your Solar To Local Grids
The SDGs can only be realized with strong global partnerships and cooperation. We foster partnerships that are productive, collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships. A successful development agenda requires inclusive partnerships — at the global, regional, national, and local levels — built upon principles and values, and upon a shared vision and shared goals, doing good while doing well, by placing people and the planet at the Centre.
Our Participation
Engaged For A Greener Future
At Quaint, we support United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and we are proud to be part of a sustainable future. Although we work with a majority of the goals in the daily running of our business, we have chosen the below5 goals in order to focus our efforts:
SDG4
Quality Education
We believe in inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Quaint supports educational activities amongst the vulnerable population in our surrounding communities. We donate books, desks, reading solar lamps and other vitals that would spur learning.
01
SDG5
Achieve Gender Equality
Gender inequalities are still deep-rooted in every society, especially in Kenya. Women suffer from lack of access to decent work and face occupational segregation and gender wage gaps. They are under-represented in political and economic decision-making processes.
Quaint support gender equality within our workforce and in the communities where we do business.
02
SDG8
Economic Growth For All
Roughly half the world’s population still lives on the equivalent of about US$2 a day. And in too many places, having a job doesn’t guarantee the ability to escape from poverty.
At Quaint, we practice and support fair wages and career growth for all.
03
SDG7
Ensure Access To Affordable
Our everyday life depends on reliable and affordable energy. And yet the consumption of energy is the dominant contributor to climate change, accounting for around 60 percent of total global greenhouse gas emissions.
At Quaint, this is our mission that we wake up every day to make a reality in our country and beyond.
04
SDG17
Strengthen Global Partnerships
A successful sustainable development agenda requires partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society
We work with different stakeholders including donors, research institutions, government, NGO partners, civil society organizations, the communities who live in and around our operations and even our competitors to address value chain challenges of mutual benefits.
